How often does the filtering screen need to be cleaned or replaced?

Never, the filter is fully automatic and cleans itself using a unique backwash process.

How long does the filter take to clean itself?

By design the backwash process is very quick and efficient taking as little as 10 seconds for complete cleaning.

Does the filter waste a lot of water while cleaning itself?

No, because of how quickly the filter cleans itself. Typical backwash water volume is as little as 10 gallons.

Can I maintain the filter myself or is a factory trained technician required?

The filter can be serviced with hand tools by anyone with basic mechanical skills.

Can the filter plug and not supply water to my system?

Accepted Answer

A properly maintained filter will not plug. If you have followed all the installation requirements including providing the minimum supplied water pressure of 35 psi (2 bar) and not exceeded water quality limits the filter will clean itself.

How do I know what micron filtration I need?

Accepted Answer

This depends on what you’re protecting. Protecting an orifice from being plugged requires particulate removal ¼ the orifice size and larger to prevent particulate bridging of that orifice. Contact us directly for assistance.

How fine of particulate can the filter remove?

10 micron is the finest. Finer the micron requires increased filtration area which increases cost. So only filter what is required.

What micron screen is inside the filter?

Can I drink the water after it has been filtered?

Accepted Answer

If the water was potable entering the filter YES, otherwise NO! This technology only removes suspended particulate NOT microscopic organisms that can make you sick or possibly kill you.

How difficult is the filter to install?

The filter is heavy and should be installed by a qualified mechanical contractor to ensure that it is safely supported and that there are no leaks when pressurized.

Do you have someone that can visit my facility and help select the correct filter?

Yes, we have qualified Sales Engineers that can assist. You will need to schedule a visit and pay for associated expenses.

Can you provide onsite startup and training assistance?

Yes, we have qualified Field Service Engineers that can be scheduled to coordinate with your startup date. Several weeks advance notice is required along with paying for associated expenses.
